4 Ways to Stay Fit Outdoors

Hit the Trails – If you’re usually found on the treadmill at the gym, take your workout outside! Trail running if not only a major calorie burner, it’s super fun. You can get in a great workout while enjoying nature coming to life for the spring. Because of the textured terrain, you body has to work harder while you run, which burns more calories in less time. We call that a win-win! Call some friends and make it a social event. If you can’t find a decent trail near you, an old fashioned run through the neighborhood is still a great way to get some great outdoor fitness in.

Ride Your Bike to Work – The Type A in us loves that we can knock out two things at once with this outdoor fitness idea. Avoid the rush hour traffic and get your workout knocked out while you head to work. We bet it will do wonders for your stress levels, and think of all the gas you’ll save! Just research the different bike paths or greenways in your area to find out more about how biking to work can pay off for you. Also, don’t forget to bring a change of clothes (and deodorant) with you!

Try a Water Workout – There are so many options these days when it comes to outdoor fitness on the water. Whether your passion is kayaking, canoeing, or paddle boarding, water fitness is not only a great workout, but an incredibly fun way to enjoy the outdoors. Why else would people continue to come up with new ways to enjoy time out on the water? Some other options include float yoga, water aerobics, and open water swimming.

Join a Fitness League – Here’s your chance to combine social hour with your outdoor fitness.
